MARRAIGE, GOD'S AWESOME GIFT






It was not good for a man to be alone, I will make him a helper, one fit for him. These were the words of our creator. The issue of marriage is one that in part disproves the theory of evolution. If Man truly evolved, and evolution happens through chance caused by physical factors at certain times, how then can we explain womanhood and its well defined features which fits manhood. The soft voice of our ladies, their caring nature, the ability to get pregnant, their tendency to care more for their children and many more are all features sought by men in a woman before marriage. This compatibility should not be found between human beings if we truly evolved, rather it is the creative mind of our creator in all beauty brought us(man and woman to be). This is the only possible way to define the wonderful compatibility between man and woman.

Marriage is God’s institution, he alone was the founder and we are made the beneficiaries. Marriage is a pleasant gift worthy of our earthly existence. He saw man’s weakness and he gave him a helper. There are times when my cousin who is twenty seven years old will come home very hungry, too hungry to enter the kitchen to cook. He usually asks me to see if there is any in my house…….”you will not go and marry” is always my reply. The role of women in marriages is not only subjected to kitchen work but for the whole growth of the family. The illustration is to show a little reason why God deemed it fit to provide a female for our first father. The story continues; sometimes I will also have nothing in the house because of my little fear for the kitchen…. And this meant both of us slept hungry or we ate bread with soft drinks (those from Nigeria will understand this type food is for people who are Kitchen shy or have no time to cook). God made the male to behave like males and the female like females. My cousin expected me to cook where as I expected him to cook. Had it been one of us had a wife, food would have not been a problem. Genesis 2:18,22-24”And the Lord God said,’ it is not good that man should be alone; I will make a helper comparable to him……then the rib the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and he brought her to the man.. Then Adam said; this is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she will be called woman for she was taken out of man.’ Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
 Marriage is more than the ceremony we witness, it is more than the paper works and all the other traditions that follows marriages. The bible said the man and the woman will become one flesh, a sacred union ordained by God. It is not to be played with for it was our creator who started it in Eden, He blessed this institution and gave Adam and Eve the authority to stay in union, becoming one flesh. Mathew 19:4-6 “ And he answered them saying “have you not heard he who made them at the beginning made them male and female, ‘ and said for this reason man should leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and two shall become one flesh? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together let no man separate.” The words of Jesus echoed strong in the ears of the Pharisees and the pressing crowd, and then it pierced through the ages to our generation. Jesus repeated the words of Genesis 2 but added a stronger point to it. What God has joined together let no man put asunder, not even the husband or the wife can separate this union. Marriage is like a room with only one door and no window, once one enters the door is locked and the key destroyed. Yet the beauties the room afforded are supposed to keep the one who enters entangled in happiness until the end of his life. In fact the one inside the room will definitely not want to leave the room even when the door is opened for him. Christ instructs us to fear God through staying steadfastly in the union which the father joined, never to separate from it for it not of us to do so.
The sacredness of Marriage is written in many places in the bible. Ephesians 5:28,29 “so husbands ought to love their wives as their own body, he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh but nourishes and cherishes it just as the Lord does the church. Husbands are instructed to give their lives for their wives just as Christ gave his life for us. The legalism of marriage is one the heavens sanctions and respects. It is Christ who looks on with a smile when we keep true to God’s union. He likens his love for us as to a husband to his wife. This is to show us how inseparable marriage is, just as we are from him. Ephesians 5:25-27, “ husbands love your wives just as Christ loved the church and gave himself for her, that he may sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word.
Husbands are the heads; their love should be unshaking, ever willing to give themselves up for their wives. The beauty of every marriage comes from a father who neither seek other women nor care less for the wife. It is the husband who through words and actions of love will direct his wife towards the course our heavenly father planned for them. As humans we are bent to make  mistakes, yet as Christ the husband of the church took it upon himself to redeem his own, husbands should also do the same, forgiving and guiding their wives.
 A husbands who understand women are weak and brings himself low to accommodate and direct her will enjoy the sweetness of Marriage.1 PeterPeter3 :7 “ you husbands must be careful of your wives, being thoughtful of their needs and honoring them as the weaker sex. Remember that you and your wives are partners in receiving God’s blessings. And if you don’t treat her as you should , your prayers will not get ready answers.” when there is disaccord in marriage there is a disconnection between the partners and God. How can a man pray for God’s favor when a part of him (the woman) is against such favor? Surely such prayer will not be answered. Can one say yes and also say no? We take marriage so lightly that we fail to see the oneness in the husband and wife. If one say no and the other says yes then they have said nothing, it is required we must agree to ourselves before we succeed.
Women are requested by God to submit to their husbands. They are the weaker vessels, made from man. Ephesians 5:22-28 “you wives submit to your husbands leardership in the same way you submit to the Lord. For a husband is in charge of his wife just as Christ is in charge of his body the church……so you wives must willingly obey  your husbands in everything just as the church obeys Christ.” First we note the comparison of obeying the husband likened to obeying God. This does not mean ordering around in the part of the husband. As we enjoy the fellowship we have in Christ, enjoying being obedient to Christ so should a wife. And the husband must cherish and love his wife (Pamper her, show her love that no other man on earth can envisage) just like Christ did to us. Obeying the husband might sound tedious to young women who are yet to marry. When there is unimaginable LOVE existing between the husband and the wife, there will be no need to obey for the wife in love will do that which pleases the husband.
Husbands that are not abusive or beat their wives prospers. Beating a woman is the weakest act a man can do. She was gotten from you and sure will be a weaker product than the original. Building obedience through regular beating of your wife will not bring the desired effect.. The Bible frowned at it. God hates it and we must likewise hate it. Colossians 3:19 “ Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.” If you are angered by your wife, God instructs you to immediately settle your misunderstanding in a more loving way. In fact your tone of voice and your manner of approaching your wife during caution can bring her to repent in tears. Point out to her how you have been trying to keep her happy. Show her the sacrifices you have been making each day for her, and if need be bring a gift to her. It sounds hard to do but if this is done in a voice of love, your wife will surely repent of her sins. Yes your grudge against her may put you off but can you be angry with yourself for a day? You are one with her and only when the body is together and well will there be joy. Ephesians 4:26 “if you are angry don’t sin by nursing your grudge, don’t let the sun go down with you  still angry.” This means you must settle every disagreement with your spouse the same day, remember the sun must not go down while we still angered.
The most heinous crime in marriage is infidelity. Marriage should be guarded strongly to avoid this sin creeping in. God distastes infidelity and it is only that which can bring a marriage to its end. (Wives, husbands be careful), for infidelity is the only reason for a man to divorce his wife. Infidelity is not only a sin but a crime for you have stolen from your neighbor his most treasured gift, a gift from God’s throne. Mathew 5:23 “ for I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife except for marital unfaithfulness causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery”. Then we must see the marriage bed a thing holy and dedicated unto God. Hebrews 13:4 “Let marriage be marriage be held in honour among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.” Marriage is God’s gift and he guards it jealously, it should be seen as a thing of honor and not to be ridiculed. The last two commandments of God are dedicated to marriage.  Exodus 20:14, 17 “you shall not commit adultery.” “you shall not covet your neighbours house; you shall not covet your neighbors wife….”
Marriage is designed by God to last for a life time. Romans 7:2 “for the woman who has a husband is bound by law to her husband as long as he lives. But if the husbands dies, she is released from the law of her husband.” Till death do us apart echoes always….fear God, respect your wife, living in humility and trusting God.

The art of speech has been one great blessing from God, yet this blessing can be misused. God after creation endowed all men with different blessings. Blessings that when looked upon and comparing ourselves with other living things cause us to wonder why God cherished us thus. Like all gifts God gave us, Satan is steadfastly seeking to present this gift to us counterfeited. He urges the mind of one who fails to lean on God to think casually of all adornment God provided for the human race.
Sex is one of God’s gifts of love, designed to bring comfort and love to only those who are joined together in marriage. But the evil one roams around like a lion looking for whom to devour. He seeks the mind of those who ignores the beautiful plead of the Holy Spirit, those whose heart are open to sin

The evil one will not relent for he knows his days are short. The gift of speech is not spared, here Satan works strongly to derail us from faithfully using this gift. The gift of speech is used every day. It is part and parcel of all our daily dealings. The greatest of temptations we face daily mostly comes from the use of our tongues.
Most of the mishap the world is facing today came as a result of the gift of speech not used accordingly to God’s plan. Sometimes a mere threat yet from a heart of good can be detrimental to one who uttered the threat. Many are imprisoned because of their mouth. Many are killed because of what they say, families are broken, friendships destroyed all because of the mouth. The use of the mouth should be done cautiously for it is stronger than a nuclear weapon.
The mouth is a weapon that will kill, it can also save. Sometimes we forget Satan used this same gift to bring down our first earthly parents. He spoke and Eve was convinced. Unknown to us, most times we convince people to sin. Many a times we break hearts with what comes out of our mouths. We cause People to spend lonely times crying or thinking gravely about others. We gossip, we back bite, we tell unhealthy jokes. There are times we do these things without knowing we are sinning.


 WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY CONCERNING SPEECH?
Ephesians 5:4 “Dirty jokes, foul talks and coarse jokes…. These are not for you. Instead remind each other of God’s goodness and be thankful” God reminds us that speech is a gift from him, designed for uplifting each other in Godly ways.
As Christians our words should always contain a Christ like identity. How can we preach to people around us when we set evil examples through our wrongful use of speech? Mathew 12:34-35 how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaketh.” We are known from what comes out of our mouth. Our characters are laid bare when we speak, a bared character should always show Christ in it.
Still many forgot God is omnipotent, all great and all powerful. We speak however we like, even speaking ill of our creator. We swore in his name. Many comedians now consider God a tool for entertaining people. The musicians and those in the movie industries are not left out of such evil. Exodus 20:7 “you shall not use the name of Jehovah your God in vain”. Using God’s name wrongly is sin and God will not hold the one who uses his name in vain lightly.
We must give account of all careless words we utter. Mathew 12:36, 37 “men will have to give account of every careless word they have spoken” knowing we are being held accountable for the misuse of this wonderful gift, why then should we continue to misuse it. A man who guards his speech from his heart will live long. In fact the bible in Proverbs 3:5 say “He who guards his lips guards his mouth but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin”. We must understand not just this earthly death but eternal death for all who speaks evil.  Again remember every idle word spoken will surely be given account of when Christ comes the second time.
BRIDLE YOUR MOUTH JUST LIKE THE HORSES ARE BRIDLED AND OUR BODIES WILL BE LED ARIGHT. LIKE A LITTLE SPARK OF FIRE ON DRY LEAVES SUCH CAN OUR WORDS BE, SETTING FIRE TO EVERY SOUL THAT HEARS IT. 

A GIFT IN WAITING

2014 years ago Jesus came and Died for all our
sins opening the door of salvation. This door is
open to all who seek a new life in Christ. Every
christain believes in this free gift of salvation
and we are all striving to be its partakers. All
over the world there is a misconception about
how and what this gift is all about.
God created us in such a way we decide our
actions. From Eden, though created perfectly, the
negative aspect of choice were exercised by our
first Mother and Father. We can't remove this
power of choice or free will from our being for
it is part of our making.

The problem of salvation today is simply many a
false doctrines that roams around this wonderful
gift of love. Many or majority of Christains
believe that once one repents( accepts Jesus) he
is saved for ever. This notion came because of a
wrongfull assesment of the Bible. The death of
Jesus simply nullified the vigourous sacrificial
system of the old, giving us a simplified system.
In the old, once a man who just presented a
sacrificail lamb for his cleansing returns in his
sinful ways, it becomes necessary for him to
repeat the procedure of his cleansing again. In
Jesus we find a more simplified medium of
reconnecting with God once we sin.
The misconception is that once we turn a
christain there is no more going back, no matter
how we sin we are still heaven bound but is this
true? Okay lets take an example, a pastor who
steals....is he safe from eternal death because he
at one time gave his life to Christ(accepted
Jesus)? Does it mean that once he accepts Jesus
its all over no matter what?
Clergy men and priests alike has been preaching
this fallacy. The law is crucified they will preach,
then should we all continue in sin? Is stealing
not in the law? Infact this is a topic for next
time, we will see that the law crucified was quite
different from the law of Exodus 20(10
commandments).
Hope you are understanding where am going?
Once saved, forever saved is a wrong doctrine
that will cause many to miss heaven. Jesus paid
the price of death but he wants us to decide by
ourselves if its our wish to join him in heaven.
This decision simply means keeping the
commandments of God. Jesus said if you love
me keep my commandment, what
commandment was he talking about? Till heaven
and earth pass away not an iota of what the
prophets said will perish. What where the
prophets of old saying? Keep the
commandments of God they cry out always and
this commandment was the one Jesus gave to
Moses on Mount Saina.

We can never be saved if we don't keep God's
commandments no matter how we profess our
faith in Jesus. Jesus said that many who calls him
Lord, Lord won't be saved on that day, why will
it be so? We are all expected to live a worthy
life fit for a christain and that life is to keep
God's 10 commandments, all of them without
exception. James said we are guilty of all if we
fail to keep one of them James 2:10.
Let's see some biblical proves that shows Heaven
is for those who keeps God's commandments(ri
ghteous) and not for those who believe in Jesus
without keepin God's commandments, infact I
don't think is possible for one to whole
heartedly believe in Jesus and yet fail to keep
God's commandments. If there is, let the person
re-check his believe in Christ Jesus.
1 cor 6:9,10 "Know ye not that the unrighteous
shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not
deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor
adulterers, . . . nor thieves, nor covetous, nor
drunkards . . . shall inherit the kingdom of
God." The story found in Matthew 18:21-35,
revolves around the forgiveness of God. A
certain king respondedto the pleas of his servant
and forgave him a large debt. That servant went
out and found a fellow servant who owed him a
small amount and showed no mercy, throwing
him in prison because he could not pay. When
the king heard what had happened, he rescinded
his cancellation of the large debt and had his
servant thrown to the tormentors till he paid in
full.
No one can deny the obvious teaching of
thisparable. Even though God graciously
forgives those who apply for it, that forgiveness
is not without conditions for the future. We can
lose that forgiveness by being unmerciful to
others. This is in harmony with the words of the
Lord in Ezekiel 33:13 ,"When I shall say to the
righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to
his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all
his righteousness shall not be remembered;
but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he
shall die for it." The principle is repeated in
verse 18, "When the righteous turneth from his
righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall
even die thereby."
Grace only comes when we utilizes the power of
prayer, when we pray for our forgiveness.
Hebrews tells us that Jesus is serving as our high
priest in heaven interceeding for us. Let us strife
to pray for forgviness just as Jesus prayed.

BIBLE AND SCIENCE

Some doubt the authenticity. Some believe that Science remains the ultimate definition of life, its factors and interactions. Do you know that science is in fact one of the bases of the Bible. God proved the Bible true by showing us he created the Earth, thus he knows all its rudiments and interaction by giving us scientific backups in the Bible...

1) HYDROLOGICAL CYCLE: It took science till the 60th BC for them to understand the process of RAINFALL. One Engineer Marcus was the first to put forth the Hydrological cycle theory, but the Bible has in fact proved this 150 years before Marcus found out.
Amos 9:6'' He that calleth the waters for the sea and poureth them out upon the face of the Earth. The Lord is his name

2) OCEAN PATH AND CURRENT: The father of Oceanography Maury couldn't have claimed he discovered Ocean path and Current through experiment. In fact he said it was his son who read the book of Psalms 8:8".....whatever passes along the paths of the sea when he was on a sick bed that inspired him to search more on that prospect. This Happened in the 1800; yet 1000 years ago David discovered it first

3)VALLEYS IN SEAS: IN THE ANCIENT world it was thought that the floor of the seas and oceans were smooth; flat and sandy. In the 19th century, expeditions where carried out by scientists to know what lays in the bottom of the deep. And they found out that valleys(valley) are in oceans and seas. The Marianas trench, which is the deepest valley
in a body of water can swallow the highest peak on Earth, mount Everest and still have some miles unfilled. Job knew all this all along, Job 38:16 again proved scientists as imposters

4) EARTH OVER NOTHING:It was thought in the old that the Earth was placed on top of an object. The Greeks once believed that the God Atlas was carrying the Earth on its shoulder. Some said it was on top of an Elephant, some Turtle and some Cat fish, even the great Aristotle failed to understand the position of Earth. Job26:7 ''He hangeth the Earth upon nothing''
5) THE NORTH POLE: In the 18th century no one new about the North poles. The story of blocked ice water would have generated laughter in minds of the then scientists. It was untill the 19th century that Men sought for more lands to form colonies that led to the discovery of the coldest region of the Earth. Surprisingly Job knew about it all along. Did he travel to the North pole. Remember no adequate ship was in store as of 3000 years ago. This shows that God inspired him. Job 38:30'' The waters are hid as with stones, and the face of the deep is frozen''

6) AIR HAS WEIGHT: It is believed that the wind was weightless until the 14 century when Evangelista Mathmathica proved that Air has weight. To scientists a new idea has been born but unknown to them that Evangelista was merely repeating what Job said. Job 28:25 '' to make the weight for the winds and he weigheth the waters by measure''.

7) STARS CAN'T BE NUMBERED: Kepler and Coppernicus both great scientists in their ignorance thought the Stars can be numbered, in fact they proposed definite numbers for the stars Numerical value. It was until the advent of the Telescope that Galileo proposed the uncountable number of the stars. Yet again the Bible knew before hand that the stars are uncountable. Genesis 15:22 Abraham failed to number the stars, thus proving this. Jeremiah 33:22'' the host of heaven is innumerable.

8) BLOOD IS LIFE: You can agree with me that blood remains the Life factor of every Human. No Blood No Life and that is a medical fact. George Washington died because of abominable act of blood letting. This showed the ignorance of the Medical practitioners of the 17th century. Had they read the Bible! Washington would have been a little much older. Leviticus 17:11'' for the life of a creature is in his blood. Wow the Bible is ever edifying for those who seek Knowledge

9)THE WONDERS OF ORION AND PLEIADES: In Constellation Scientists believe the two stars or Constellation are special. Job knew this before scientist could develop a suitable instrument to carry out research on Constellations

10) DINOSAURS: Fossils have been discovered almost frequently. The remains of this ancient animals are always unbelievable gigantic. Do you know that the Bible itself clearified this scientific fossil as true? in  Job 41, Job described a sea animal called LEVIATHAN, its description didn't fit any animal presently living on Earth; not even living around 8BC. The animal Job described has a fearsome description that not even a Whale can be compared to it in size.

 We can now all see that the Bible still remains a true inspired book. Ask your self, how did these Bibilical characters know about this hidden scientific facts! Remember there were no good equipments for proper researches and experiments then. God knows his creation and he simply made it known to his Children. More on this will be coming soon.

AN EVENNING FOOD

God answers prayer..Am a witness to this awesome fact. Have you been in a delima before? To be more straight, have you encountered an Everest in your daily dealings? Have you been in a situation where Death seems the best solution? Or to disappear entirely from earth as the best option? In our present life we meet situations that seems insurmountable, but the good news is there is hope for a surrendering heart. Do you know that there is always help from a master in a every situation? The happy part of it all is that he is ever ready to extend his mighty hand to help any who seek it. Yes I know you will ask, PRAYER remains the best and most efficient means of getting this wonderful help. Are you amazed on how simple your plight can be lifted? Don't be, our God is a loving one and our pains he feels. He wants us to be happy always. Now you see why he gave us a sure way for help whenever we think is over...So why not pay him a visit by kneeling down now and pray with me.. Father thank you for the gift of prayer, forgive me my sins and strengthen my path to thee. Answer my prayer always, for you are my only helper. Thank you Jesus for answered prayer. Wow what a relief, don't hesitate to ask him for help. He loves you and will always help you.

THE SCRIPTURES A SAFEGUARD.
" To the Law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because their is no light in them." Isaiah 8:20. The people of God are directed to the Scriptures as their safeguard against the influence of false teachers and the delusive power of spirits of darkness. Satan employs every possible device to prevent men from obtaining a knowledge of the Bible; for its plain utterances reveals his deceptions....So closely will the counterfeit resemble the true that it will be impossible to distinguish between them except by the Holy Scriptures. By their testimony every statement and every miracle must be tested. But multitudes have no more understanding of these important truths than if they had never been revealed. Satan watches to catch away every impression that would make them wise unto salvation, and the time of trouble will find them unready. The Multitude do not want Bible truth, because it interfers with the desires of the sinful, world-loving heart; and Satan supplies the deceptions which they love. But God will have a people upon the earth to maintain the Bible and the Bible only, as the standard of all doctrines and the basis of all reforms. The opinions of the learned men, the deductions of science, the creeds or decisions of ecclesiastical councils, as numerous and discordant as are the churches which they represents, the voice of the majority-- not one nor all of these should be regarded as evidence for or against any point of religious faith. Before accepting any doctrine or precept, we should demand a plain " thus saith the Lord" in its support. Satan is constantly endeavouring to attract attention to man in the place of God. He leads the people to look to bishops, to pastors, to professors of theology, as their guides instead of searching the Scriptures to learn their duty for themselves. Then by controlling the minds of these leaders, he can influence the multitudes according to his will. When Christ came to speak the word of life, the common people heard him gladly; and many, even of the priests and rulers, believed on him. But the chief of the priesthood and the leading men of the nation were determined to condemn and repudiate his teachings. Though they were baffled in all their efforts to find accusations against Him, though they could not but feel the influence of the divine power and wisdom attending His words, yet they incased themselves in prejudice; they rejected the clearest evidence of His Messiahship, lest they should be forced to become His disciples. These oponents of Jesus were men whom the people had been taught from infancy to reverence, to whose authority they had been accustomed implicitly to bow. " How is it," they asked, " that our rulers and learned scribes do not believe on Jesus? Would not these pious men receive Him if He were the Christ?" it was the Influence of such teachers that led the Jewish nation to reject their Redeemer. The spirit which actuated those priests and rulers is still manifested by many who make a high profession of piety. They refuse to examine the testimony of the Scriptures concerning the special truths for this time. They point to their own numbers, wealth, and popularity, and look with contempt upon the advocates of the truth as few, poor, and unpopular, having a faith that separates them from the World.The truth and the Glory of God are inseparable; it is impossible for us with the Bible within our reach, to honour God by erroneous opinions, Many claim that it matters not what one believes, if his life is only right. But the life is moulded by faith. If light and truth is within our reach, and we neglect to improve the privilege of hearing and seeing it, we virtually reject it; we are choosing darkness rather than light. " there is a way that seemth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death" proverbs 16:25. Ignorance is no excuse for error or sin, when there is every opportunity to know the will of God. A man is traveling and comes to a place where there are several roads and a guideboard indicating where each one leads. If he disregards the guideboard, and takes whichever road seems to him to be right, he may be ever so sincere, but will in all probability find himself on the wrong road. God has given us His word that we may become acquainted with its teachings and know for ourselves what He requires of us. We should day by day study the Bible diligently, weighing every thought and comparing scripture with Scripture. With divine help we are to form our opinion for ourselves as we are to answer for ourselves before God. One reason why many theologians have no clearer understanding of God's word is, they close their eyes to truths which they do not wish to practice. An understanding of Bible truth depends not so much on the power of intellect brought to the search as on the singleness of purpose, the earnest longing after righteousness.... IS BAPTISM NECESSARY?

Christ’s life is an example every Christian must aspire to follow. His teachings and actions we must inculcate into our lives. One of the teachings of Christ embodies baptism; in fact he himself underwent this symbolical ritual. It was obligatory for him to fulfill all his followers will be looked upon to fulfill. Christ was tempted, he prayed constantly to the Father, he fasted, he shared the good news and he was baptized etc. these are part of the essentials that make up a Christian life.

Jesus words in John 3:5 clearly placed a final decree on the importance of Baptism. Unless one is baptized of water and the Spirit the kingdom of God will elude him. For a person to truly become a Christian, he must be baptized. Paul told us this in Galatians 3:27; for as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. To profess truly we are of Christ, we must be baptized into him, only then will our new life in him be complete.
SYMBOLISM OF BAPTISM

Many a time we ask ourselves why such emphasis on baptism. The human race from Eden has been stained with sin. The world itself is sin. From the foundation of the world has always been the plan of redemption. God through his son Jesus provided a new life for any who will believe.  Sin brings death, death which transcends more than the normal death we know (eternal death).
Christ’s took our punishments for we are all sinners and died for our redemption. Baptism evolves from faith, faith in the death and resurrection of Christ. It is a personal agreement that Christ’s death is for us. Paul in Romans 6:1-4 encourages the withdrawing from sin. Paul asks us why should we who are dead in sin (through believing in Christ and being baptized) remain in sin. Verse3: know you not so many of us as we are baptized into Christ were baptized into his death? 4. Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the father; even so we also should walk in the newness of life.
Baptism points at the cross. It brings back to our heart the sacrifice of Jesus and like Paul said, the newness of life baptism affords should be cherished and worked up. Worked upon through daily walk with God.
It also symbolizes the washing away of our sins through the death of Christ Acts 2:38 And Peter said to them ‘repent and be baptize every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. The beautiful symbolism of baptism clearly directs us to the cross. Baptism provides us the gift of partaking in the death and resurrection of Christ.
WHO ARE MEANT TO BE BAPTIZED

The Bible provided a good answer to this question. Many of the churches around us have failed to see that which the Bible directs. The clergy men continues to lead men astray, yet the Bible gave us answers. Many of our infants are baptized in these churches, but is this what the Bible directed. Luke 2: 21-28 told us our creator and redeemer was taken to God’s temple in infancy to be dedicated. If Baptism of infants is ideal, it would have been performed on Christ. Christ’s ministry also touched children, he told his disciples to allow the little ones come to him. He carried them and blessed them; he did not baptize any among them. In fact the whole stories of baptism scenarios in the bible involved only Adults. why only adults?
 Acts 2:38; then Peter said unto them, repent, and be baptized for the remission of your sins. Peter requested all who are to be baptized to repent first. Repenting can only happen when one believes. We see a choice in Peter’s plea, it is of the hearers to believe or not to, there must be a choice. Choice always comes from understanding and it is only when one welcomes the good news through understanding first, then being baptized then will the Holy Spirit dwell securely in his heart. A heart that chooses Christ is always opened to the Holy Spirit and it is renewed. Infants lack this choice and the act of believing. At a tender age, the choices of the infants are left to the Parents. In the Bible we witnessed men and women being baptized because the first believed and then chose to be baptized.
In Mark 16:16 “he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved. The Master himself declares baptism is for those who hears and believes and not infant who neither understands or believe at tender ages.
Acts 2:37-41 Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and they said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, Brethren what shall we do? And Peter said to them, repent and be baptized every one of you…
Acts8:12-13 but when they believed Philip as he preached the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Christ, they were baptized both men and female. Here again the People believed after hearing. They believed and were baptized.
In Acts 8:26-38, the Ethiopian asked Philip what will prevent him from being baptized as they passed a body of water. Philip answered “If thou believeth in all thy heart, thou mayest and he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God. Philip showed us the criteria for baptism, simply by believing whole heartedly that Christ is God’s son and our redeemer (This infants cannot do) .it us not of parents to make the choice of baptism for their children, the heavenly race is a personal race. Parents should prepare the way for their children to follow, pointing Christ to them. Of age and with their personal decision will they choose to follow Christ through believing and being baptized?
HOW SHOULD ONE BE BAPTIZED

The teachings of the world contradict that which God’s word teaches regarding baptism. The word baptism comes from the Greek word Baptizo( meaning to immerse or to dip) in Matthew 3:16-17 we read of baptism of immersion. 16. And when Jesus was baptized he went up immediately from the water and beholds the heavens were opened. Christ came up out of the water, this fulfilled the death and burial with Christ Paul told us of.  The Bible did not teach Christ was sprinkled upon but instead Christ fulfilled the righteousness that points to his death through being immersed and raised from the water.
This same baptism of immersion was carried out by Philip on the Ethiopian. Acts 8: 39 and when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught up Philip.
The death and burial with Christ is signified by the going down into the water, with the water covering the entire body. Rising with Christ is signified by the coming out of the water……..a new life in Christ.
